I’m excited to share our newest members with you: Parry Nitchos and Paul Nanuwa. These two life-long friends bring an incredible array of talent, skills, heart and enthusiasm to the “Pick Up and Play” webseries and have stepped up to the “live session one-take video” plate without fear!
Born and raised in Leicester, England moved to Toronto, Canada when he was 12. At present, Paul is an active session drummer in the city. He has performed on many stages around the world from concert theatre shows to festival stages. Paul has been learning and performing drums/percussion, guitar, bass, keys as well as East Indian percussion instruments and even noodles on some brass, woodwinds. Basically, Paul has the ability to pick up any instrument and can make it sound the way it should. Ever since he can remember, Paul always enjoyed singing and has been involved in choirs and jazz vocal groups too. Paul joined ATB Music Canada because he loves a good challenge and enjoys sharing his passion for music with positive like minded individuals.
Parry first picked up the guitar twenty years ago at the age of 10 and had a deep rooted passion for music for as long as he can remember. “The guitar has allowed me to express myself in ways that I wouldn’t be able to do so otherwise”, he says. “As a teenager growing up in the 90’s there was a surplus of great music coming out in the rock/grunge genre where I would later take bits and pieces from and apply that to my song writing and craft/band projects.” Along the way Parry has been able to pick up the keyboards, drums, and the bouzouki. As a member of ATB, Parry finds like-minded individuals who share the same passion. “It’s a very positive atmosphere where we all strive to bring out the best in one another–and aith all of the musical diversity in the group there is a lot of knowledge to be had and that is what excites me the most!”
